“I’m gonna learn how to fly!”

First it was a hit motion picture, then a popular television series and then an award-winning stage show: Fame – The Musical is nothing short of a global phenomenon. Fame features a high-energy, contemporary pop score (which includes the hit title song) and a moving coming-of-age story.

Picture a stage full of starry-eyed and hopeful young people praying for an acceptance letter from the prestigious High School for the Performing Arts in New York City. A drummer known as Lambchops rips open her envelope and explodes with excitement. Other students tear their envelopes apart to find acceptance letters! We transition to the school, where we meet the English, Drama, Music and Dance teachers, and an array of new students: Carmen Diaz, Serena Katz, Schlomo Metzenbaum, Nick Piazza, Jose Vegas, Tyrone Jackson and many others, each ready to take the world by storm, and become the newest talent in their own disciplines. Students are thrown into the rigorous studies of P.A. (performing arts) and experience the demands of drama, dance and music classes. Freshman year has officially begun!  The show follows the journey of each student, and teacher, through the four years of their career at the school, exploring poignant moments of love, heartbreak, friendship, sorrow, and success.

Fame is the bittersweet, but ultimately inspiring, story of a diverse group of students who commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today.

With hit songs, fantastic dance numbers, and tons of creative and powerful characters for everyone to play, Fame is going to be the high-energy hit of the year!

*please note that we will be rehearsing and performing the one-act version of the show that has tons of amazing roles, and opportunities for singing, dancing, and acting for everyone!
