Curioser and Curioser!

Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature’s most beloved heroines, in her madcap adventures.  Featuring updated songs from Disney’s thrilling animated motion picture, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR. is a fast-paced take on the classic tale.

The ever-curious Alice’s journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit.  Her adventures become increasingly more strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!

Roles are plentiful, with dozens of wonderfully wacky characters, including rock lobsters, talking fish, royal cardspeople, unbirthday partiers, as well as a group of mean-girl flowers.  Many students will have the opportunity to play more than one role.  The Academy is also excited to feature absolutely epic costumes for this production – it’s going to be visually stunning!

Featuring classic Disney songs such as “I’m Late,” “How D’Ye Do and Shake Hands,” “Golden Afternoon” and the always favourite “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah,” this is going to be a show to remember!

The Stewart Park Festival (SPF) performance on the main stage has been an Academy tradition for 22 years – in fact the Academy holds the record for the most SPF performances in its history!  This is an incredible opportunity to rehearse with fellow music theatre lovers, to perform in front of an excited crowd, and to hold a backstage performer pass along with professional renowned musicians!  But don’t be nervous – we all work and perform together as a team to put together the most awesome production ever.  What an incredible way to celebrate being back in-person together again!
