And The Sound of Music is certainly one our favourite things, and one show that we always glad to bring back to The Academy. Join us for a beautiful, inspiring, uplifting adventure with the world’s most beloved musical, as we work together to solve “a problem like Maria,” and perform some of the most famous show tunes ever written: “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and, of course, the title number, “The Sound of Music!”
This is a show with an exceptional number of great roles for all ages —all of them unique and fun!
Set in Austria during the darkening years leading up to WWII, the lives of a young single-parent family (Liesl, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta, and Gretl ) led by their loving, but stern father, Captain von Trapp, are transformed by the appearance the free-spirited Maria. Based on a real-life story, this is a tale of a family facing a coming darkness and having to make difficult decisions that will change their lives forever, but also lead them to joy and freedom.

Refund Policy: Due to the high expenses of these specialized workshops, which need to be spent far in advance of each program in order for them to proceed, all workshop fees are payable in full at the time of registration. In the case of extraordinary circumstances (emergency medical situations, family death, etc.) a refund of the workshop fees, less an administrative fee ($100) may be requested in writing.
